Die Stoep will be closed from 6 to 17 July as we take a short winter break a change to rest, recharge, and come back ready to keep the fires burning for you.

Die Stoep at Vriesenhof

After months of careful restoration, Die Stoep opens as a haven where the past meets the present. Located in Stellenbosch’s iconic winelands and set within the storied walls of Jan Boland Coetzee’s manor, our restaurant embodies South Africa’s rich heritage with a contemporary twist.

Step back in time while savouring the vibrant flavours and hospitality of today.

The Menu

Our menu celebrates heritage, simplicity and seasonal local ingredients.
Expect fresh, vibrant and flavourful dishes highlighting the Cape produce alongside Neapolitan style wood fired pizzas and open flame grilled cuts meat and fish sourced from local ethical purveyors.

    Join us for The Cellar Table Dinner Series — an intimate seasonal showcase running bi-monthly. Each evening explores aged expressions of Vriesenhof’s signature varietals, including rare large-format bottles, thoughtfully paired with seasonal, honest fare. Expect bold flavours, classic cooking, and a celebration of provenance.Seats are limited — to book your place at the table, please book via dineplan.

  • Winter Set Lunch Menu

    As the vineyards settle into winter, the fires burn a little longer at Die Stoep. Join us for a seasonal three-course menu celebrating comfort, flavour and the simple pleasure of sharing a table, accompanied by a glass of selected Vriesenhof wine.

  • Vrydag aan die Vuur

    As the week draws to a close, gather around the fire for 'Vrydag aan die Vuur'. Inspired by the timeless tradition of sharing food and wine around glowing coals, this relaxed Friday evening celebrates seasonal ingredients, open-fire cooking and the simple pleasure of good company. Set in the historic Vriesenhof manor house, it is a warm and welcoming way to begin the weekend.

    Our menu changes regularly with the seasons and what inspires us from the fire. Follow our social channels for the latest menu and upcoming Friday evenings around the coals.
