Strauss & Co Auction
Synonymous with top quality art, the introduction of fine wine auctions is a bold new venture on the part of Strauss & Co and will become a key part of the annual Strauss & Co auction calendar. The application of strict criteria with regard to quality, provenance and rarity will enable collectors to buy outstanding wines with confidence, in a seamless and highly transparent manner.
Interest in vintage SA wines is at an all-time high, especially as the country raises its profile in the local and international wine market. ‘We have witnessed first-hand the immense appreciation in fine wine prices over the last decade. This coincides with a leap in quality and realisation of some of the incredible gems from the last century,’ says Roland. As leaders in the fine wine market, Wine Cellar will provide professional cellaring, logistics and fine wine experience for the auction.
Not only will the Cape Town sale include SA’s finest and rarest wines, but a line-up of icons from Bordeaux and throughout Europe is on offer. The catalogue will be released on the Strauss & Co website on 23 August where pre-registration is also available. The auction is open to the public and there will be further opportunity to register on the day. Absentee and telephone bidding is also available.
The auction will take place on Saturday 14 September from 10am – 2pm at The Westin in Cape Town where we will be placing 18 x 750ml bottles of our Kallista 2005 as well as 6 Magnums of the Kallista 2005.
